The draw for the Senior Football Championship in 1904 resulted as follows;

Naas V Moorefield

Athy V Kilcullen

Clane V Roseberry Sarsfields

Kilcock V Hollywood

Kilmoney V Bye.

Sunday 24th July say Clane (champions) V Roseberry Sarsfields at Athy.

A special train left Kingsbridge at 1.15pm stopping at all stations. The result was a resounding win for Roseberry Sarsfields 3- 12 to Clane 1-2.

In the 1st half a Roseberry Sarsfields player was ordered off for what the paper described as "gave an opponent a bad fall".

Roseberry Sarsfields refused to play on without him and it took Clane half an hour to agree to allow him to play on.

They subsequently objected and a reply was ordered for September 11th again in Athy.

Roseberry Sarsfields won this time by 1-12 to 1-9 after leading 1-9 to 0-1 at half time.

In the semi final at Brownstown Roseberry Sarsfields defeated Athy by 4-12 to 0-0.

The final was not played until January 29th 1905 when Rosberry Sarsfields had no difficulty in beating Naas 0-14 to 0-3 after leading at half time by 0-13 to 0-0.

The Roseberry Sarsfields team was as follows:

Jack Murphy (capt), M. Murray, J Scott, Frank (Joyce) Conon, M Kennedy, M Fitzgerald, M Donnelly, Tess Conlon, J Colleton, M Keogh, M Drennan, D Holohan, R Dowling, J Carroll, J Kelly, E Doyle, M Coffey.

Roseberry Sarsfields won eight Senior championships between 1904 - 1915, with seven in a row 1904 - 1910.

The period between 1916 to 1930 was a lean time for Football in Newbridge.

The great war 1914 - 1918 and the withdrawal of British troops from the Curragh and Newbridge saw a lot of players emigrating.
